Digital Transformation in Packaging Manufacturing Starts With Shared Data
Digital transformation in packaging manufacturing does not start with new machines. It starts with how an order moves between departments. Each order carries a customer, a spec, a schedule, materials and payment terms. When this data sits in separate files, errors appear early.
SAM is a Vietnamese manufacturer of packaging materials. Its main product is corrugated plastic, also known as Danpla, coroplast, correx or corflute, a hollow-core fluted PP sheet. The company also makes EVA and PE foam. Its products reach customers in Vietnam, the USA, Japan, Australia, the UK and Russia.
As the business grew, management needs grew more complex. The company therefore chose manufacturing management software from Faceworks. On 24 November 2025, Faceworks published a case study about the project. This article summarizes that case study, and it adds a few practical notes for other manufacturers.
Many Product Types and Materials
The case study describes packaging as a field that demands high accuracy. Companies must manage many product types and raw materials at once. For example, sheets, boxes, partitions and foam each have different specs. Each type needs its own materials and inspection criteria.
As order volume rises, scattered spreadsheets quickly become overloaded. A single employee on leave can interrupt a whole task. Centralized data, however, keeps work from depending on one person’s memory.
Customers in Several Markets
The company’s products reach buyers in the USA, Japan, Australia, the UK and Russia. Each market has its own needs for records and schedules. Customer, order and inventory data must therefore match. One wrong figure can delay an entire shipment.
This is a general observation about the industry, not a figure from the project. The case study also mentions the company’s motto: quality and customer satisfaction come first. With that motto, accurate data is a natural requirement.
The Thank-You Visit and Satisfaction Survey
The visit belonged to the Faceworks program “Accompanying Customers in Digital Transformation”. The Faceworks team came to the company to present a thank-you gift. At the same time, they surveyed satisfaction with the product and the service. The survey results are the main source for the claims in this article.

In the survey, Director Lê Đức Tuyên noted clear improvements. Processing time became shorter. Data management errors dropped. In addition, departments coordinated far more smoothly than before.
One point needs to be clear. These are qualitative answers from a user, recorded in a survey. The case study gives no specific hours or error rates. As a result, this article adds no figures of its own.
System Scope: From Customers to Assets
According to the case study, the director rated the software highly in several respects. The modules run stably and deliver the expected results. The friendly interface and easy user experience also received positive feedback.
Customers, Partners and Core Processes
The first module manages customer and partner data. It also covers the company’s main business processes. Information sits in one place instead of on individual computers. Staff can look things up without asking colleagues.
Sales and Marketing
Sales and marketing share one data foundation with customer records. In principle, quote history and purchase orders become easier to follow. For a customer base across many countries, this keeps replies consistent between sales staff.
HR, Warehouse, Materials and Assets
The HR module gathers employee records in one place. The warehouse and materials modules show where goods are and how many remain. The asset module tracks the plant’s machines and equipment. Because these areas connect, accurate stock data directly supports material purchasing plans.

Consulting, Deployment and Support: What Customers Rated Highly
Initial Consulting
The whole process earned high satisfaction, from first consulting to after-sales support. The Faceworks team listened well, understood the need and proposed a fitting solution. Its attitude was professional and attentive. Moreover, the time for consulting and quoting was judged reasonable.
Deployment as Promised
The software went live as promised. Training was full and easy to follow. Support for moving data from the old system worked efficiently. In addition, the team solved issues promptly.
For companies with years of records, data migration is the biggest worry. Customer, order and inventory data cannot be rebuilt from scratch. A complete migration means the team keeps working without interruption.
Support After Deployment
Post-deployment service stood out as a bright spot. Problem solving was effective, and the support team stayed dedicated. Faceworks also updates and upgrades features regularly. As a result, the system keeps pace with the company’s growing needs.
Next Steps and Advice for Packaging Companies
The company is not stopping at today’s results. The company wants to extend the system to raise production management efficiency. The next goal is to improve how teams work together. The director added that he would recommend Faceworks to partners and other businesses.
Faceworks, for its part, thanked Director Lê Đức Tuyên and all company staff for their trust. It treats customer feedback as a driver for new features. In addition, it promised to keep listening and supporting the company throughout its growth, in Vietnam and abroad.
Advice for Other Manufacturers
The points below are the author’s own suggestions. They draw on what customers rated in this project.
- Start from the data bottleneck that causes errors, not from a feature list.
- Ask the vendor about legacy data migration in the very first meeting.
- Reserve time for training so that users become truly familiar with the system.
- Choose a vendor with clear post-deployment support and an update roadmap.
Good data management also serves buyers indirectly. Customers who order corrugated plastic sheets or corrugated plastic boxes and partitions expect orders to match specs and dates. A management system is only a tool. What matters is how the team uses it every day. Visit the SAM home page for more on production capacity and product lines.
